That is extremely slow, hence boredom and unwillingness to read. Find light (but long) reading. Perhaps a textbook. Use visual reading, with finger motions. Or a speed-reading program. Make your eyes do the reading, not your vocal cords. Push your eyes. Make them read faster. Do this 30-60 minutes a day. You can double to quaruple your reading speed in weeks.
