Software Engineering Research
I am interested in the design and the implementation issues of the enterprise
architecture to provide an environment for decision support and data mining
activities. I am trying to formulate some software metrics or productivity
measures for the architecture design. The traditional measure for a piece
of software includes lines-of-code, function-point counting, and various
metrics derived from lines-of-code and function-points. For an enterprise
architecture with distributed software and databases that are interconnected
with middle-ware, metrics for such environment is a multi-variable formula
of function-points and quantified measures of operational procedures,
communications, and meta data management.
Currently I am working on the various software engineering issues in
the data-warehousing environment and the parallel development environment
in collaboration with
Dr. Cheong Youn, Department of Information and Communication,
Chungnam National University, Taejon, South Korea.
Book Contract:
A contract has been signed with Tsinghua University Press, Tsinghua
University, Beijing, China, to write a computer science textbook entitled:
"Software Engineering: Traditional and Object-Oriented Approaches."
I am co-authoring with Dr. Thomas J. Marlowe in the Department of
Mathematics and Computer Science at Seton Hall University, South
Orange, New Jersey, USA, on this software engineering book.
