Data-Warehousing System Optimization Research
We categorize this optimization research into four levels: the query
language level, the data structure level, the architecture level, and
the operational level. The performance of an OLAP (On-Line Analytical
Processing) environment depends on query optimization, the structure of data,
the software and hardware architecture that provides an environment for
query processing, as well as the administrative/operational activities
of an enterprise data warehousing system.
This research was funded in summer 2003 by The Center for Research,
College of Science and Health, William Paterson University.
